On September 5th, an event called "Heroes Among Us" was held in our parish. Representatives from three emergency services – firefighters, paramedics, and a police officer – visited us. A military chaplain also attended.
We had the opportunity to see what their vehicles are like, view their equipment, and learn more about their demanding and responsible profession. The military chaplain told us about his experiences and showed us what he has experienced during his service. It was very interesting to hear stories from people who help others every day and sometimes find themselves in really challenging situations.
I think that each of us learned some interesting information that we didn't know before.
For each of the emergency services, we were also able to pick up a piece of a puzzle. Throughout the morning, we gradually assembled the pieces and, at the end, we could take the finished picture home as a souvenir of this day.
Fortunately, the weather was beautiful, so we were able to enjoy a pleasant afternoon full of interesting experiences and new information.
We would like to thank everyone who came to visit us and kindly shared their experiences, showed us their work, and dedicated their time to us. A big thank you also goes to everyone who beautifully prepared the entire event.
It was a truly wonderful afternoon that we will remember with pleasure.
