Vocation is a precious gift that God sows into hearts, a call to step outside oneself and embark on a journey of love and service. And every vocation in the church – whether lay, ordained service, or consecrated life – is a sign of God’s hope for the world and for each of His children.
Nowadays, many young people feel lost in the face of the future. They often experience uncertainty regarding job prospects and struggle much more with an identity crisis, which is a crisis of meaning and values, and whose management is further complicated by digital confusion. Injustice towards the weak and poor, the indifference of selfish wealth, and war violence threaten the visions of a good life that they hold in their souls. However, the Lord, who knows the human heart, does not abandon us in uncertainty – on the contrary, He wants to awaken in each of us the awareness that we are loved, called, and sent as pilgrims of hope.
Therefore, we, the adult members of the church, especially pastors, are called to embrace, discern, and accompany the new generation on their path of vocation. And you, young people, are called to be the main protagonists, or rather collaborators of the Holy Spirit, who awakens in you the desire to make life a gift of love.
